Mario Schiopetto Collio

The Schiopetto winery is one of the oldest wineries in the Collio region, which includes terraced vineyards of around 30 hectares. Mario Schiopetto is considered the initiator of the quality revolution in Friuli's white wine sector. The wines of the Schiopetto winery are marketed at the earliest one and a half years after the harvest. The top white wines are flawless in their fragrance, regularly have a uniformly high level and are also capable of ageing.

This wine is known as “Il Mario”. It is the best quality possible of Schiopetto wines. A representative, superb wine that can only be produced in stainless steel tanks in the best vintages. It is the perfect synthesis of the typical locally grown Friulano grapes (95%) and the mineral-rich Riesling (5%), both planted in 1954. This white wine is dedicated to Mario Schiopetto and it expresses the quintessence of the wine-growing area of Capriva del Friuli.

Elegant and delicate nose at first glance with ripe fruit flavors then followed instead by sweet notes of almond and custard. Elegant on the palate, yet warm and full-bodied, all is balanced by notes of fruit, pear and quince over all, with fresh and intense final. Good minerality.
