Distilleria Sibona is one of the oldest and most respected grappa producers in Piedmont, Italy, founded over a century ago in the Roero area near Alba. The distillery is especially known for holding the historic distillation license No. 1 issued by the Italian authorities, a symbol of its prestige and long tradition. Sibona specializes in artisanal single-varietal grappas made from fresh pomace of top Piedmont grapes using careful steam distillation and long barrel aging.
Extra-aged, vintage Nebbiolo grappa made from Barbaresco pomace and designed as a slow “meditation” spirit. Matured in a dual system: first a long period in stainless steel tanks, followed by an extended ageing in oak casks of increasing size (initially medium, then smaller barrels) to build complexity and refinement.
It shows a deep amber-golden color and an elegant, structured aromatic profile with notes of vanilla, ripe red fruits, forest berries, toasted oak, and subtle tobacco. On the palate it is smooth, full-bodied, and layered, combining warmth with refinement, where flavors of dried fruit, cocoa, caramel, spice, and gentle woody tones unfold gradually.
