Distilleria Sibona is one of the oldest and most respected grappa producers in Piedmont, Italy, founded over a century ago in the Roero area near Alba. The distillery is especially known for holding the historic distillation license No. 1 issued by the Italian authorities, a symbol of its prestige and long tradition. Sibona specializes in artisanal single-varietal grappas made from fresh pomace of top Piedmont grapes using careful steam distillation and long barrel aging.

Grappa di Barolo 5 Years Old is a well-balanced aged grappa made from Nebbiolo pomace from Barolo vineyards, offering a slightly fresher and more immediate expression than the 8-year version while still showing notable oak complexity. After distillation it rests in stainless steel before maturing for around 5 years in small oak barrels, which gives it an amber-golden color and a rounded, softened structure.

The nose is elegant and expressive, with notes of red berries, cherry, rose petals, vanilla, cocoa, light tobacco, and gentle spice layered over subtle toasted wood. On the palate it is smooth and harmonious, combining fruit-driven freshness with flavors of caramel, dried fruit, hazelnut, and mild oak, supported by a warm but well-integrated alcohol presence.
