Distilleria Sibona is one of the oldest and most respected grappa producers in Piedmont, Italy, founded over a century ago in the Roero area near Alba. The distillery is especially known for holding the historic distillation license No. 1 issued by the Italian authorities, a symbol of its prestige and long tradition. Sibona specializes in artisanal single-varietal grappas made from fresh pomace of top Piedmont grapes using careful steam distillation and long barrel aging.
Moscato Riserva Speciale is a long-aged premium grappa made from high-quality Moscato grape pomace, designed to highlight aromatic intensity with added depth from wood maturation. It is typically aged for several years, beginning with a period of controlled resting in stainless steel followed by extended maturation in small oak barrels, which softens the spirit and adds structure without overpowering the varietal character.
In the glass it is bright amber and highly expressive, showing pronounced floral aromas of orange blossom, acacia, and elderflower, alongside ripe fruit notes of peach, apricot, pear, and citrus zest. With ageing, it develops richer layers of vanilla, honey, toasted almond, and gentle spice. On the palate it is smooth, elegant, and rounded, balancing Moscato’s natural aromatic sweetness with oak-derived complexity, leading to a long, refined finish of fruit, honey, and soft wood spice.
