Grappa Riserva Sherry Cask

Distilleria Sibona is one of the oldest and most respected grappa producers in Piedmont, Italy, founded over a century ago in the Roero area near Alba. The distillery is especially known for holding the historic distillation license No. 1 issued by the Italian authorities, a symbol of its prestige and long tradition. Sibona specializes in artisanal single-varietal grappas made from fresh pomace of top Piedmont grapes using careful steam distillation and long barrel aging.

Grappa Riserva Sherry Cask is an aged grappa finished in barrels that previously held sherry wine, giving it a richer, slightly sweeter and more oxidative aromatic profile than classic oak-aged expressions. It is distilled from selected grape pomace, rested in stainless steel, then matured in oak before a finishing period in sherry casks, which enhances depth and complexity.

In the glass it shows a deep amber color and an expressive bouquet of dried fruits, raisins, figs, dates, orange peel, walnut, almond, vanilla, and gentle spice, with subtle oxidative notes reminiscent of aged fortified wine. On the palate it is smooth, full-bodied, and velvety, combining grappa’s clean grape core with flavors of caramel, toffee, cocoa, candied citrus, and nutty sherry richness.
