Grappa XO

Distilleria Sibona is one of the oldest and most respected grappa producers in Piedmont, Italy, founded over a century ago in the Roero area near Alba. The distillery is especially known for holding the historic distillation license No. 1 issued by the Italian authorities, a symbol of its prestige and long tradition. Sibona specializes in artisanal single-varietal grappas made from fresh pomace of top Piedmont grapes using careful steam distillation and long barrel aging.

Grappa XO is one of the distillery’s flagship extra-aged grappas, created from a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera pomace sourced from prestigious Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards in Piedmont. Aged for more than 10 years in small French oak tonneaux, it is designed for slow sipping and serious grappa enthusiasts.

The aroma is refined and layered, opening with vinous notes before evolving into vanilla, red berries, tobacco leaf, cedar, cocoa, honey, and dark dried fruit. On the palate it is notably smooth, silky, and complex, with flavors of blackcurrant, oak spice, chocolate, nuts, licorice, and warm tobacco, finishing long and persistent with elegant integrated alcohol.
