Espumante Bruto

Quinta de Soalheiro was the first Alvarinho brand in Melgaço, and one of the first Portuguese producers of Alvarinho. The Monção e Melgaço sub-region is protected by a range of mountains that create the perfect conditions of rainfall, temperature and number of hours of sunshine needed to ripen the Alvarinho grapes. This very special microclimate led to plant the first Alvarinho vine in 1974 and to create, in 1982, Quinta de Soalheiro.

After a careful selection of the grapes, the resulting must goes through the first fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. Second fermentation takes place in the bottle and the wine is stored on its lees for 9 months. It has a lemon yellow colour with fine and persistent bubbles. The aromas are characteristically Alvarinho - fruity and fresh. On the palate there are notes of minerality, with nice complexity and a lasting finish. The mouthfeel shows a delicate balance between acidity and alcohol.
