Primeiras Vinhas

Quinta de Soalheiro was the first Alvarinho brand in Melgaço, and one of the first Portuguese producers of Alvarinho. The Monção e Melgaço sub-region is protected by a range of mountains that create the perfect conditions of rainfall, temperature and number of hours of sunshine needed to ripen the Alvarinho grapes. This very special microclimate led to plant the first Alvarinho vine in 1974 and to create, in 1982, Quinta de Soalheiro.

Primeiras Vinhas (‘First Vineyards’) was born from the plot called Soalheiro, which gave name to the brand, planted in 1974.


Wine has a bright lemon to golden-yellow color and a concentrated ripe fruit aroma with buttery notes and plenty of spice. It boasts an elegant, vibrant flavor that is very firm and tropical tasting in its youth and gets bigger with ageing. Its full body perfectly balances with a crisp acidity.
