Suntory Toki

Suntory is Japan's first whisky company, started by Shinjiro Torii in 1899. Now, over 100 years later, Suntory are the leading producer of Japanese whisky, with Yamazaki and Hakushu malt distilleries and Chita grain distillery in their portfolio. From these three starting points they produce a wide range of blended and single malt whiskies, catering to both the palates at home and abroad. Toki means "time" in Japanese. It's a concept rich in meaning the world over, but particularly in Japan where respect for tradition and reinvention sparks a powerful creative energy inspired by that interplay, Suntory Whisky Toki brings together old and new – the House of Suntory's proud heritage and its innovative spirit – to create blended Japanese whisky that is both groundbreaking and timeless. Fifth Generation Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo challenges the conventional hierarchy and roles between malt and grain whiskey, by highlighting the quality of the Chita grain whiskey not as a base but in equal standing to the Hakushu malt whiskey. The select Yamazaki malt adds further depth and complexity to this vivid blend. 

Soft orchard fruits and thyme honey on the nose are joined by a helping of peppermint in the backdrop. More green apple on the palate leads along bright citrus notes from pink grapefruit. Bitter herbs, toasted almonds and vanilla oak linger underneath.
