Castello Romitorio is an Italian wine estate situated in Montalcino. The estate is particularly renowned for its Brunello di Montalcino wines produced from the Sangiovese grape variety. The estate takes its name from the nearby castle constructed in the 12th Century, and was purchased by the artist Sandro Chia in 1984. Chia began a series of developments that included the planting of several plots of Sangiovese vines that same year.

The Syrah from Castello Romitorio arises from the desire to produce a pure, energetic wine reflecting the rich tradition of Tuscan farming and the unique terroir of the Maremma. Planted with care by the Chia family, the vineyard occupies a singular landscape, ideal for the production of this rare and naturally low-yielding grape variety – a natural canyon bridging water and fire, sea, and mountain, linking Monte Amiata to the Tuscan archipelago.
