Ta'Betta embarked on a journey to realize a dream: that of making fine wines with personality and aging potential, which embody the terroir of a four-hectare estate. The terraced vineyards at Ta’ Betta are trellised along the north to south axis: in summer, the foliage and the shadow one trellis casts on the next, as the sun traverses east to west, allow one to protect the grapes from excessive direct sunshine. The boutique winery was built with weathered limestone blocks, blends an old-world charm with practical modern architectural touches.
Inspired by Fra’ Jean Parisot de Valette, the 49th Grand Master of the Order of Malta who stood victorious after the Great Siege of Malta in 1565 and lay the foundation stone of the city of Valletta in 1566.
This oak-fermented Chardonnay is a tenacious and complex wine. Intense golden yellow in colour. On the nose, aromas redolent of butter and smoke combine with toast, banana, ripe peach, roasted hazelnut, and a hint of sea salt. The creamy mouth-filling palate radiates finesse and elegance with a fine drive and a long finish.
