Teliani Valley Winery is currently one of the top producers of quality Georgian wine. Established in 1997 on the site of a 19th century winery in Teliani village, its first vintage was released in 2000. Wines offer a great quality to price ratio and has received the highest Wine Spectator ratings of Georgian wines to date. A large producer by Georgian standards producing over 2 million bottles a year. Their modern wine making facilities are located in east Georgia in the Kakheti Appellation. Very approachable wines for the novice Georgian wine drinker yet the wines maintain unique a Georgian character. All wines imported utilize indigenous Georgian varietals.

Kakhuri no.8 is a blend of four indigenous white Georgian grape varieties – Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Khikhvi and Kisi, harvested from vineyards planted at the foot of the Caucasus mountains in Kakheti, the eastern region of Georgia. This unique blend of white grapes is aged for 6-months in stainless steel, with skin contact, which gives the wine an amber color. The tradition of fermenting and aging white grapes on their skins is a thousands-year-old continuous Georgian tradition.

In addition to a lovely color the wine is medium-bodied and has a harmonious and balanced palate with soft tannins and a long aftertaste. This wine has subtle aromas of herbs and dried fruit.
