The GlenAllachie 11YO Premier Cru Classe Finish

One of Scotland’s few independently owned and managed distilleries, The GlenAllachie is led by industry veteran, Billy Walker, who boasts an astonishing 50-year tenure in whisky. Nestled at the foot of Ben Rinnes, the distillery lies at the heart of the Speyside, with a focus upon quality over quantity.

The GlenAllachie Wine Series takes Scotch whisky aged in American oak bourbon barrels and then gives it a minimum two-year additional maturation in wine barriques, each one demonstrating the impact of the terroir of the grape and winery as well as the oak species, level of toasting, and coopering of the cask. In this case, French oak barriques were procured from one of just five Premier Cru Classé chateaux located in the world-renowned wine region of Bordeaux, France.

Waves of butterscotch, blackcurrant, and heather honey, with hints of minerality, poached orchard fruits, and orange zest.
