The Macallan 12YO Sherry Oak Cask

Located on a 390-acre estate in the Scottish Highlands near Craigellachie, The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 and was one of the first Scottish distilleries to be legally licensed. Macallan has built its enviable reputation by focusing on quality. It is one of the most sought-after whiskies for collectors. The Macallan invests a lot of time and effort into sourcing and making casks, so much so that it is the only Scotch distiller with a dedicated Master of Wood: Stuart MacPherson. 

Crisp and sweet. There are notes of sultanas and fresh apple blossom. There is a defined floral note followed by Sherry hints. Calvados emerges with a tropical fruit note and golden syrup. Medium-body and quite firm. There are notes of hot pastries and marmalade, sultanas and peels with a developing sweetness from the barley sugar. Good length with a solid oaked note.
