Classic Cut 2025 Edition is the ninth annual release in The Macallan’s Classic Cut series, showcasing the distillery’s exploration of high-strength, flavour-forward whisky. Matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, alongside ex-bourbon casks. The expression is designed to highlight how flavor evolves with dilution, moving from intense richness at full strength to brighter fruit-driven complexity when water is added.

At full strength, the nose opens with orange oil, barley sugar, velvety milk chocolate, vanilla, and caramelized baked apple. With a few drops of water, it shifts toward panna cotta creaminess, grapefruit zest, and citrus brightness. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, showing icing sugar sweetness, orange zest, mandarin, lemon meringue, and caramelized almonds, supported by gentle oak spice. The finish is long and elegant, with lingering grapefruit, melon, soft citrus oils, and warming spice that slowly fades into sweet oak and subtle cocoa.
