Quinta da Côrte lies in the heart of the Douro Valley’s “golden triangle” in the Cima-Corgo sub-region, where steep, terraced vineyards cling to the region’s distinctive schist slopes. With vine plantings dating back to 1814, some over a century old, the estate embodies the deep heritage of Douro winemaking. Its wines are crafted using traditional methods such as foot-treading in granite lagares, preserving authenticity and a true sense of place. Each bottle reflects the character, history, and timeless craftsmanship of this remarkable terroir.
Manual selection of bunches and berries on a sorting mat. Then, the berries were transferred by gravity into temperature-controlled fermentation vats. Gentle and prolonged maceration (at 26°C). Aging for 24 months in 500-liter French oak barrels.
TNX stands for Touriga Nacional em Xisto (Touriga Nacional in Schist), a designation that highlights the single grape variety and unique soil type of the vineyard.
The nose reveals a variety of aromas from seductive black fruit and enveloping chocolate to spicy notes and sublime floral touches. In the mouth, it presents a remarkable balance between structure and complexity, with a skillfully integrated acidity that highlights its fruity richness and depth of mouth. A wine that stands out for its elegance, representing the pure expression of the Touriga Nacional varietal on schist soil.
