Unlike many of the stainless-aged Italian wines available, even the white wines of Simcic are fermented and aged for long periods in oak, and are therefore almost French in style. Many top critics consider him to be the best winemaker in Slovenia. Third and fourth generation winemakers, he and his son Aleks are stubborn, persistent and hard-working but also open-minded when it comes to trying new ideas.

The color is golden, medium deep. Quite gentle on the nose, nicely open and ripe. Fruity notes like ripe peaches are dominant, including touch of sweet spices like cinnamon. Dry on the palate, with oily texture, and pleasant feel. Though alcohol levels are moderate, it is obvious that it was made from fully ripe grapes. Aromatic complexity on the palate is even greater than on the nose. Enjoyable on the nose, enjoyable on the palate with enjoyable texture feeling. In top condition now. Rounded with an agreeable longer finish.
