Zibibbo

Fondo Antico is a family-owned Sicilian winery founded in 1995 by Giuseppe Polizzotti on the historic Polizzotti-Scuderi estate near Trapani, where the family has cultivated land since the early 1800s. The estate planted its first vineyards around 1920 and gradually evolved into a modern winery focused on expressing western Sicily’s terroir through both native grapes. With around 80 hectares of vineyards overlooking the Egadi Islands, Fondo Antico combines traditional Sicilian viticulture with modern winemaking, emphasizing sustainability, low-intervention vineyard practices, and freshness-driven wines that highlight the saline, Mediterranean character of the region.

Aromatic Sicilian white wine made from the Zibibbo grape (Muscat of Alexandria), showing a pale straw-yellow color with golden reflections. The nose is highly perfumed and expressive, with intense notes of orange blossom, jasmine, ripe apricot, peach, and citrus zest, complemented by hints of honey and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is fragrant and medium-bodied, balancing natural grape sweetness with bright acidity, leading to a fresh, dry, and persistent finish marked by floral and citrus-driven elegance.
