Craigellachie Speyside 13YO

Craigellachie is the rock at the heart of Speyside, yet is anything but your typical ‘Speyside’ whisky. Considered old fashioned even in 1891, its fruity, muscular flavor stems from use of worm tub condensers. It is this full, yet aromatic, character that defies expectations. All Craigellachie expressions are non-chill filtered, contain no caramel coloring and are bottled at 46% ABV.

Initially matured in a mixture of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. 50% of the 'blend' is then finished in first-fill Sherry casks, the rest in first-fill Bourbon.

Craigellachie 13 Year Old evokes Bonfire Night: aromas of oozing toasted marshmallows, fire-roasted pineapples and baked apples studded with cloves, with the tang of cordite lingering in the background.
