Blandy’s Madeira was founded by John Blandy in 1811 and is well-known for producing quality Madeira, a fortified wine, from Portugal’s island of the same name, several hundred kilometers west off the northwest coast of Africa. The Blandy family is one of the original founding families of the Maderia wine trade and is the only family to still own and operate their original wine company on the island of Maderia.
The Malmsey or Malvasia grape is found predominately in the region of São Jorge on the north of the island where the family has long standing relationships with over 26 farmers.
Amber color with golden reflections. Characteristic bouquet of dried fruit, herbal tea, caramel, with hints of vanilla and brandy. The palate is sweet, rich, soft and full bodied, with a long aftertaste and fresh with hints of vanilla and honey.
Blandy’s Harvest is fined and does not require decanting. It is an excellent accompaniment to rich desserts and cheese. It has been bottled when ready for drinking and will keep for several months after opening.
