Château Bouscaut is an estate in the Pessac-Léognan appellation situated on the left bank of the Garonne river. It was classified as Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1959. The estate was originally known as Haut Truchon, but by 1881 had taken the name Château Bouscaut. The vineyards date back to the 1600s. The château was raised to the ground by fire in 1962, but the wine cellars were left unharmed. The owner, Victor Place, reconstructed the château according to its original architectural plans.
The wine is a pale, greenish yellow color. The aromas are of pungent passion fruit with green gooseberries. The palate is dry and medium-bodied with green peapod notes supported by passion fruit notes. Creamy roundness with good acidity and balanced alcohol ensure the finish is fresh and long. The wine ends with notes of flint and oak derived sweet-spices.
