Chateau Jean Faure Grand Cru Classe

Château Jean Faure is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé estate, four kilometers (2.4 miles) northwest of Saint-Emilion town. The Jean Faure estate covers 18 hectares (44 acres) and is planted to mostly Cabernet Franc and Merlot  The vineyards, run on organic principles and have been certified organic since 2017,  have a deep iron-rich clay subsoil with flecks of limestone. From 1893 Château Jean Faure was referred to as a Premier Cru. It was elected to Grand Cru Classé status in the inaugural, 1955 classification of Saint-Emilion wines.

The wine offers deep, juicy plums, espresso, licorice, truffle flowers. Silky, elegant, fresh and lively, with a lifted, dried red pit fruit and floral finish, give this a few years before popping a cork, and it will show even better.
