Conceived as an annual release showcasing the artistry and creative freedom of Master Blender Dr. Jim Beveridge, the Private Collection was designed to explore flavour concepts beyond the consistency required of the core Johnnie Walker range. The inaugural 2014 edition focused on the theme of smoke, presenting an elegant interpretation that balanced complexity with remarkable refinement. Only 8,888 individually numbered decanters were produced worldwide, immediately establishing the series as one of the most sought-after modern collectible releases.

Created from just 29 carefully selected reserve casks, this edition combines mature Highland, Island and Islay malt whiskies with specially matured grain whiskies, many originating from experimental maturation programmes that were never intended for commercial production. Rather than delivering an intense peat-driven profile, the blend explores smoke as a sophisticated layer, woven seamlessly into rich fruit, spice and oak.
