Rather than highlighting a particular flavour profile, the 2017 edition showcases the art of cask selection and maturation, demonstrating how different oak types can create remarkable depth, elegance, and complexity. Only 5,588 individually numbered decanters were released worldwide, making it the rarest Private Collection bottling produced up to that time.

To create this extraordinary blend, the blending team combined three highly specialised whisky components. The first features malt and grain whiskies matured predominantly in first-fill American oak casks, delivering richness and sweetness. The second brings together Highland and Speyside single malts matured in refill casks, adding elegance and refinement. The final component incorporates whiskies drawn from experimental casks, including varying char levels, alternative seasoning methods, and innovative maturation techniques that had never previously appeared in a commercial release.
