Viña Vik is a Chilean wine producer, located in the Cachapoal Valley. The company was founded in 2004, by Norwegian entrepreneurs Carrie Vik and Alex Vik. Vik vineyards are located amongst the foothills of the Andes mountains and are planted across 12 small valleys creating multiple microclimates and terroirs. 808 acres (327 ha) of company vineyards are grown there to a combination of international grape varieties. Located between the Pacific Ocean and the snow-topped mountains, year-round cool temperatures allows for grapes to ripen whilst retaining acidity levels.
La Piu Belle is fruit-forward wine with a dry finish. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the nose ripe red berries and round tannins on the mid-palate. Cabernet Franc adds accents of graphite and floral scents of lavender and violet. Blended they present notes of summer stone fruit, apricots, and passion fruit with a surprising hint of citrus on the finish. Pairs exceptionally well with smoked salmon on toast with ricotta and extra virgin olive oil. Fresh pappardelle with tomato sauce, grated parmesan and basil leaves. Lobster with drawn butter and steamed fresh vegetables. Paella. Serving temperature: 10ºC - 12ºC.
