The Cairn Distillery is a modern Speyside Scotch whisky distillery near Grantown-on-Spey, owned by the historic family company Gordon & MacPhail, and it officially opened in 2022 as the first new-build distillery in the Cairngorms National Park. Designed with contemporary architecture that blends into its natural surroundings, it produces single malt whisky that will mature for many years before release, while currently offering CRN57 blended malt whiskies that showcase the intended future style.

This 30-year-old opens on a rich, inviting nose of fruitcake, where candied peel and cinnamon are layered with deep toffee sweetness and ripe Medjool dates. On the palate, warming spice and a gentle pepperiness lead into sultanas and forest fruits, balanced by polished oak and delicate floral notes. The finish is full and lingering, turning sweeter again with liquorice and lingering spice that slowly fades.
